Jamal Milan | The Overall International Father of the Iconic House of Milan | An iconic Vogue dancer within the LGBTQ+ Ballroom Community. Hired as the Vogue Dance Teacher on the Emmy nominated FX network television series POSE. Internationally known as the “Blueprint” of the Oldway/Pop Dip & Spin and Face with Performance categories. He was born in Newark N.J. and is mixed with a Black and Puerto Rican background. Jamal Milan is not only an international trailblazer when it comes to being a reference or an influence for voguing Pop Dip & Spin the Oldway and Face with Performance, he is also a singer, mentor and a 3-time Ballroom Hall of Famer! Jamal is the inventor of the current Ballroom Status Criteria in April 2010, the One Hand Walk Around move and is proclaimed by many as Ballroom’s, “Michael Jordan of Oldway/Pop, Dip & Spin and Face With Performance ” and acknowledged as a G.O.A.T. of Vogue.
Brandon Milan joined the Iconic House of Milan in 1996 as part of the Atlanta Dynasty. He quickly rose to prominence, winning Butch Queen New Face in 1997 and Face of the Year in 1998 and 1999. He was part of Atlanta’s first State vs State team, which put the city on the Ballroom map in 1998 by defeating NYC. Recognized as a BQ Face Icon in 2018, Brandon went on to receive the Dorian Corey Hall of Fame Award (2020) and the Atlanta Hall of Fame Award (2024). In August 2024, he made history as the first man to teach a Face workshop in Europe, titled The Art of Selling Face. Beyond Ballroom, Brandon built a career as a Celebrity Wardrobe Stylist and appeared on multiple reality TV shows, including Born to Style, We Spy Style, What’s Your Point of View, and Project Runway.
Kai Milan joined the Iconic House of Milan in 1997, winning grand prize in Butch Queen Runway and quickly becoming a trendsetter. He transformed All American Runway into a must-see category, making it one of Ballroom’s most popular, and became the first person named an All American Runway Icon by Pioneer Devin Omni Elite. A leader of the American Dynasty, Kai is known for his innovation, creating three Ballroom talk shows (earning the Ballroom Journalism Award) and being among the first journalists to interview the cast of Noah’s Arc. He also created the category Thug Realness with a Twist, set to be recognized as a Legendary category in 2026. Born and raised in Newark, NJ, Kai is a mentor to Ballroom members worldwide and has roots in gospel music, having sung in the New Hope Baptist Church Choir alongside the legacy of Whitney Houston.

What began as a single House has evolved into a global family, with Milan dynasties spanning the Americas, Europe, and Asia. Our ongoing international expansion underscores our commitment to inclusivity, creativity, and pushing boundaries in the Ballroom world.
The House of Milan has established dynasties in over 20 countries, from Argentina to the United Kingdom, and continues to grow worldwide.
